01
Wash and decontaminate
Salt, waterline staining and whatever has grown on the hull since the last time. Done first so the compounding step is cutting gelcoat rather than grinding dirt into it.
02
Oxidation removal and polish
Florida sun turns gelcoat chalky. Compounding cuts the dead layer back to color, then polish brings the gloss up. How many steps it takes depends on how far the gelcoat has gone.
03
Protect, then the inside
Wax or ceramic over the finished gelcoat. Then canvas, vinyl and the interior, which is usually where the mildew is.

Marine questions
Before you book
Do you come to the dock?
Yes. Dock or trailer, whichever the boat is on. Access is the first thing we ask about.
What is oxidation removal?
Gelcoat goes chalky in Florida sun. Compounding cuts the dead layer back to color, then polish and protection keep it there.
How often should it be done?
It depends on whether the boat is covered and how much sun it takes. We will tell you what we saw and suggest an interval.
Do you do the interior too?
Yes, including canvas and vinyl. Say so on the form so we allow the time.
